About my Experience and Therapeutic Approach: I believe that embarking on the path of self-discovery, healing, and self-realization is a fascinating, exciting ... and scary proposition. It is very important that you and your therapist are well- matched for this part of your journey. It is your best chance to make it all that you imagine it can be. I work collaboratively with clients to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment which is conducive to self-exploration and authentic expression. Although I am trained as an art therapist, lots of my clients chose to participate in more traditional verbal therapy. If you are interested in using art, however, combining verbal dialogue with your creative process will enable you to access insight and a greater understanding of your strengths. These insights, in turn, can lead to action and meaningful changes. My Master’s degree is in art therapy, additionally I have experience facilitating therapeutic & self-development groups. I also have advanced training in family therapy. The areas of my clinical specialization include trauma resolution (I completed EMDR training, Phases I & II), dealing with depression & anxiety, and recovery from addictive behaviors. I will honor your process while helping you connect with your strengths, self-compassion, creativity & humor. |
